With Oratory 1990's Harman target EQ they sound incredible. I actually love the stock sound though 🤷. They sound like a natural progression of the HD6xx. Now, three months later, my judgement is proven to be absolutely correct. Drop lowered the price of HD8XX to $699 and increased the price of Elex to $749.

But to be fair I thought the K7xx was awful but that was because EQ didn’t fix it and you could get a K702 or K612 which was just better for the same price brand new. EQ can fix the HD8xx and you cant get an HD800 or HD800s brand new for the same price. WebThe HD 8XX is not the HD 800S. I like quite everything HD8XX does, bass/treble balance, precise imaging, separation,fatigue free and great soundstage buuuuuuut vocal performance is bonkers, there is no around it.
